Run one zone at a time.
Walk the complete zone while it is on. Look for water spraying where a drip line should stay controlled, pooling near a break, or dry emitters around plants that should be receiving water.
- Check valves and visible connections.
- Look for pinched or exposed tubing.
- Confirm emitters are still near the root area.
- Watch for runoff beyond the property.
Do not solve every dry spot by adding runtime.
One blocked emitter or damaged line can leave a plant dry while a longer cycle over-waters the rest of the zone. Repair the coverage problem first, then review the schedule.
Change schedules as the yard changes.
Arizona water guidance recommends adjusting irrigation as plants establish and seasons change. A schedule that worked during establishment may not be the right schedule later.
Plant type, sun, soil, emitter output, and weather all affect how long and how often a zone should run.
Know when to request help.
Request help when the leak source is unclear, multiple zones have poor coverage, valves are not operating correctly, or new planting needs a larger irrigation change. Tell us what you see and which part of the yard is affected.
